How To Jailbreak 1.1.4 iPod Touch :
|
|
Please have no other programs open other than iTunes and your Internet browser if necessary. In order to jailbreak without any issues we are going to restore our iPod Touch to 1.1.4. So we hold the Option button down and click the Restore button (Hold Shift and click Restore on a Windows PC). This will bring up the different versions available. If you do not have 1.1.4, click here to download it. |
| We have made an instructional video to go along with written tutorial here. The video is displayed below or can be found here . |

2. Jailbreak iPod Touch |
After your iPod Touch has been restored you will be prompted with the “Set Up Your iPod” screen. You can leave your iPod Touch connected to iTunes and your Mac/PC. Download Ziphone’s newest release 2.6b and open the program.
|
![]() |
| You can see we have Ziphone 2.6 open and the iPod Touch at the home screen just so you can see it is up, on connected and working. Simply click “Jailbreak iPod Touch “ and let the application start the work for you. |

| You will notice that the iPod Touch is removed from iTunes and then re-appears with a warning of an iPod in restore mode. You can simply click “OK” and just ignore it as that is the only time it will happen. |
![]() |
| You can click the Apple and Tab button on a Mac or the Alt and Tab buttons on a PC to cycle through and pull Ziphone to the front again. You may notice the area where it was stuck previously getting the BSD error and now going forward with the hack. |

| Still with Ziphone working your iPod Touch will restart. |

| After restarting you will notice Ziphone has finished and your fantastic iPod Touch is now functional once again. The blue text on Ziphone’s application reaffirms it’s completion. You can now shut down Ziphone. |

| Sliding the arrow across to unlock you will now notice the “Installer” application on your iPod Touch. |

3. Restore or Newly Setup up iPod Touch |
We can now go back to iTunes and finish setting up our iPod Touch. You can restore from a previous backup or create a new is for your iPod Touch. We chose to restore from previous.
|

| Upon restoration being complete you will notice the iPod Touch will restart again. |
![]() |
Upon restoration completion you can slide it to unlock once again and you will notice the Installer application and a shortcut to Ziphone’s Blog. The shortcut icon to Ziphone may seem like nuisance at first, but if you have any problems, you can quickly check Ziphone's site from the click of the button, or you can always check back here at Oscot.
You should now restore your iPod Touch and let it sync, stay tuned as we are preparing another article to address all the issues and quirks to be worked out once it is jailbroken and synced. |

4. Clear NVRAM |
If you have the Spamming AT or the BSD Error message you can simply restore using the process outlined here. You can also try Ziphone’s process for clearing the NVRAM. And then Jailbreaking the iPod Touch. To clear the NVRAM on your iPod Touch simply click File -> Clear NVRAM within the program window for Ziphone. |

. It feels good to be free.
There's a connection problem with your phone. Usually this happens if drivers are not correctly installed, iTunes is behaving incorrectly etc.
First make sure iTunes have detected the phone. Eventually try to change USB port - if it doesn't help restart your computer. Last restort - reinstall iTunes.
Check output log for error detail
