A recent problem that has been plaguing my Blackberry is the ever annoying, missing calls list, missing all text messages, and anything that can be shaken from the phone if it runs out of memory. I had called AT&T on this problem, and soon found out I was not the only Blackberry customer to have this problem. About 50% of users I personally knew experienced it at least once a week, some multiple times a day.

Let's get started on solving this dilemma: Install the latest version of Blackberry Desktop, download available here ( link ). Registration to www.blackberry.com is mandatory in order to download its programs. RIM has instructions on how to update your device here ( link ) Make sure to update your Blackberry device as well. |
| Open Media Manager by navigating to it in the Programs Menu, or you can imply access it from the Desktop Manager software interface. |

| Note that if your device has a password to protect it from others, it also applies to computers. You will have to enter it at any given time you try to access the device from a PC or MAC. |

| Let’s make sure our device is connected to the PC. Once you have entered your password if you have, Media Manager will open. You will notice on the bottom left hand corner that it will list your blackberry device and it’s file structure, along with that of your media card. |

| Under the directory tree for your Blackberry Device, click on Pictures, and you should see your pictures that are on your device pop up momentarily. You will also notice we have extended the Blackberry directory tree for the Media Card. |

| Select All the pictures in the Blackberry device memory and move them to the Pictures folder, or any other folder you deem fit. In order to select all, select the area in the Media Manager where the pictures are by clicking in with your mouse and press the CTRL + A buttons on your keyboard. Or go to the Edit file menu on top of the program window and click “Select All”. Once successfully selected you will see all of the photos with a yellow border around them to indicate they are being selected. |

| Copy and paste them once you have them selected to the folder of your choice within the Media Card. Here you will notice we placed them in the Pictures folder. You can go back now and delete the originals in the Device Memory once you have verified that they have been successfully moved. |

| Repeat this for everything from Music to Ringtones to Pictures. Once you have cleared the excess from the Device Memory you will notice your Blackberry now has plenty of free space and you’ll be happy to know that you will not lose text messages and emails unless something goes drastically wrong. Make sure you backup your device once a week. Happy Blackberrying! |
