Keep in mind that each program you chose to unistall shoudl always be done through the availabel option in the Microsoft Operating System, or by the actual uninstaller directly available in the Program Folder within the OS.
Here we outline the process to uninstall Norton through the standard Windows process, Control Panel > Program Features, as highlighted in the prior section.
Upon starting the uninstallation process, you are prompted with the first screen. When uninstalling it is imperative that you pay attention, especially with shady programs. They tend to take the usual steps we are used to, and make them work against you so that the application stays on your machine. Not the case with Norton, but something to be aware of.
First screen is asking if you would like to remove “Remove Norton Internet Security” completely. Since we do we chose “Remove All”.
| Uninstall Norton | They notify you that still have 60 days left on your free subscription and encourage you to keep it, but we already have a set goal in mind. So we click “Next” to continue uninstalling.

| They then warn us of the inevitable reboot that will be needed to finish the removal of Norton’s products. We agree to this by clicking, “Next”.
| Uninstall Norton
| Now you will see the application begin to uninstall itself with it’s own progress bar displaying to notify you of it’s status.
| Uninstall Norton | Upon completion you will notice that it prompts you to restart the computer in order to finish the program removal. While this may be an anooying process, it is recommended after every program that asks you to upon removal. This will avoid any potential conflict with files.
